I would hope to raise the awareness of locals with the work that the Harbor Commission does, and get them involved. My qualifications will best serve the Harbour Commission because I'm a local who cares. Over the years I've became involved in multiple issues with positive outcomes. Both my personal and professional background has been all about engaging and supporting people—while making positive change. For example: 'The Fuel Dock Party'in 2016 was an effort to maintain access to fuel for boats locally. We kept the Fuel Dock+raised $15,000.for our local Huntington Harbour Sailing Foundation Program for local youth. I believe there are similar opportunities available,e.g.,working with the current CSULB research team addressing Oyster Restoration for improved water cleanliness along our coastline. As a wife&mother of two successful&educated daughters, and an active community participant for years, I've always enjoyed getting involved+know many people locally to garner support. 2013-2016 Built a new waterfront home in Huntington Harbour, Christiana Bay&maintain our boat on our own dock in the I larbour. 2017—Cruise Underway to Baja Area Rally(CUBAR)for 8 months in Mexico(received Longest Voyage Trophy from LBYC). 1 have much experience being at sea with navigation, radio,AIS,logistics, etc. -with my terrific, highly supportive husband, Captain Kurt.
