[ Yes [ ] New Policy or Exception 6 SW Statement of Issue, Recommendation, Analysis, Funding Source, Alternative Actions, Attachments: 6d4_ STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The undergrounding of electrical lines along Golden West Street, between Ellis and Slater Avenues, cannot be completed until that the City grant an easement to Southern California Edison Company. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the attached Resolution; thereby granting an easement to Southern California Edison to construct and maintain underground facilities on City property. ANALYSIS: On May 4, 1992, Council approved Resolution 6379; thereby establishing an underground utility district along Golden West Street, between Ellis and Slater Avenues. Pursuant to this district, Southern California Edison Company will underground the electrical lines along this portion Golden West Street; however, the lines cannot be undergrounded until the City grants an easement to Edison to construct and maintain electrical facilities on City property. Therefore, the Director of Public Works recommends approval of the attached Resolution; thereby granting the required easement to Southern California Edison. FUNDING SOURCE: Not Applicable ALTERNATIVE ACTION: Deny approval of Resolution and granting of easement; thereby delaying or foregoing the undergrounding of electrical lines along Golden West Street between Ellis and Slater Avenues.
