A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
APPOINTING JASON SCHMITT AS CITY TREASURER AND
SETTING THE SALARY RATE AND ASSIGNING CERTAIN BENEFITS
FOR THE APPOINTED CITY TREASURER
WHEREAS,Article II, Section 200 of the City Charter("Charter") of the City of
Huntington Beach provides for a Council-Manager form of government; and
Article III, Sections 300 and 312 of the Charter set forth the selection process as well as
the duties and obligations of the City Treasurer; and
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to appoint Jason Schmitt to '
the position of City Treasurer for the City of Huntington Beach, effective August 25, 2025;
and
Jason Schmitt represents that he is willing and qualified to provide such services to the
City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach that it hereby as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby appoints Jason Schmitt as the City Treasurer of
the City of Huntington Beach pursuant to Sections 300 and 312 of the City Charter.
SECTION 2. The effective date of the appointment of Jason Schmitt as the City
Treasurer shall be effective August 25, 2025.
SECTION 3. The salary of the appointed City Treasurer as reflected in the salary
range contained in the Non-Associated Elected Executive Management Salary Schedule
"Exhibit A", attached hereto and incorporated herewith shall be set at the NA0018 rate of
$77.85 per hour. City Treasurer shall be compensated based on a forty (40)hours per week.
SECTION 4. All other allowances and benefits will immediately match, continue to
follow, and be updated according to agreed-upon Non-Associated Resolution modifications.
SECTION 5. All other benefits and salary ranges established and reflected in the Non-
Associated Employees Pay and Benefits Resolution in effect, shall continue unless modified by
City Council action.
SECTION 6. Any existing provisions in conflict with the foregoing,whether by minute
action or Resolution of the City Council, are hereby repealed.

SECTION 7. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the
City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and
enter it into the book of original Resolutions
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at the
City Council's regular meeting held on August 19, 2025.

City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do
